News - World: Yemen's Parliament Speaker, Yahya Ali Al-Rae'e, conveyed appreciation to the Speaker of the South African Parliament, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, for South Africa's solidarity with the Palestinians.

Al-Rae'e lauded the South African government's decision to file a lawsuit against Israel at the International Court of Justice in The Hague. The lawsuit accuses the Israeli government of violating the 1948 Genocide Convention by allegedly committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

He emphasized that the legal case against the Israeli government before the International Court of Justice is a significant and timely step towards holding them accountable for the crimes committed in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.

Furthermore, he reiterated Yemen's Parliament's support for this legal move and the pursuit of justice against individuals implicated in war crimes.

The Parliament Speaker expressed gratitude to the South African parliament, government, and citizens for their courage in taking this critical step.

Israel launched the war on Gaza on October 7 after Hamas-led Palestinian resistance groups waged the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in response to the Israeli regime’s decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against Palestinians.

Since the start of the offensive, the Tel Aviv regime has killed at least 23,000 Palestinians and injured nearly 59,000 others.

Thousands more are also missing and presumed dead under the rubble in Gaza, which is under “complete siege” by Israel.
