The website confirmed in a statement, Tuesday, that this is a dedication to the genocide crimes committed by "Israel" against the civilian population in the sector since October 7th of last year. It revealed shocking testimonies documenting the killing of dozens of Palestinians and the injury of others by the Israeli enemy army during their gathering on Thursday, January 11th, on Rashid Street in western Gaza City to receive humanitarian aid. It held the United Nations agencies responsible for their failure to ensure proper mechanisms for delivering aid to the population.
The information received indicates that nearly 50 Palestinians were martyred and dozens were injured after the Israeli army used "quadcopter" drones to open fire at Palestinians who had gathered to receive quantities of flour through trucks belonging to the United Nations.
According to the testimonies collected by the Mediterranean Observatory, dozens of residents gathered on Rashid Street in western Gaza City, which had been destroyed by Israeli bulldozers in recent weeks, waiting for the arrival of trucks carrying flour. They were surprised by the arrival of quadcopter drones that started firing at them, resulting in a large number of martyrs and injuries among them.
The residents fled the area and transported the injured on animal-drawn carts, while the martyrs remained in the location. Later in the same day, the trucks arrived, and hundreds of residents returned to gather again to try to receive their share of flour, while hundreds of thousands in northern Gaza Strip have been suffering from hunger for the fourth consecutive month.
The residents had to travel distances of up to 10 kilometers to reach the area, and there was no system in place for aid distribution.
Based on the testimonies received by the monitor, there are concerns about the presence of victims as a result of the severe congestion that occurred in the area after the arrival of the trucks.
The Euro-Med Monitor emphasized that Israel uses starvation as a tool of war and political pressure against Palestinian civilians, which falls within the framework of genocide crimes. It requires urgent measures to enable Palestinians to obtain food, water, and their basic needs without obstacles, targeting, or intimidation.
It also held the United Nations and its humanitarian agencies responsible for the shortcomings and failures in delivering humanitarian assistance appropriately and adequately to hundreds of thousands of people who have been suffering from real hunger for the fourth consecutive month, as well as their silence regarding the killing of civilians by the Israeli army during their attempt to receive aid.
The statement referred to the announcement by the spokesperson for the United Nations, "Stéphane Dujarric," that only three out of 21 life-saving aid shipments managed to reach northern Gaza Strip between January 1st and 10th.
Dujarric stated that these missions were planned to deliver medical supplies and fuel to water and sanitation facilities in Gaza City and the northern part of the Strip, but the Israeli authorities refused to allow their entry.
