Abdulsalam Criticizes US, Western Countries' Behavior Towards Ongoing Atrocities in Gaza

News - Yemen: The head of the National Delegation, Mohammed Abdulsalam, strongly criticized the behavior of the United States and Western countries concerning the ongoing atrocities committed by Israel against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

Abdulsalam stated that preventing the delivery of necessities, such as bread, to the people of Gaza amounts to an attack on the UN Relief and Works Agency UNRWA.

He further emphasized that in the face of the war of starvation imposed on Gaza, those who have any sense of dignity can only support and assist the deprived population in every possible way.

Abdulsalam stressed that the suffering of children and women in Gaza, including hunger, thirst, cold, and deprivation of necessities, motivates the Yemeni Armed Forces to continue their operations against Israeli and other ships heading to the ports of occupied Palestine.

He asserted that neither the US nor any other entity can prevent Yemen from fulfilling its humanitarian and moral duty towards the oppressed in Gaza.

"We say to the US that its actions surpass the Nazism of the Nazis and the brutality of fascists. This bloodshed committed by Israel is nothing more than a consequence of the actions of the US and the UK. You will not be able to indefinitely subjugate this nation," Abdulsalam stated.

He concluded by urging an end to the war on Gaza, denouncing the acts of Nazism, fascism, and brutality.

In the latest developments, more than 10 countries have suspended funding to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), sparking a massive outcry from human rights and refugee organizations.

“Suspension of funds threatens humanitarian work in the region, especially in Gaza,” UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini said in a statement on Saturday, terming it a “collective punishment.”

The countries that have cut the funding include the United States, Australia, Canada, Italy, Germany, Finland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Scotland. Experts say this makes them directly complicit in the genocide and humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza.

"The day after ICJ concluded that Israel is plausibly committing Genocide in Gaza, some states decided to defund UNRWA, collectively punishing millions of Palestinians at the most critical time, and most likely violating their obligations under the Genocide Convention," wrote Francesca Albanese, the former UN official on her X account.
