Yemeni Military Operations in the Red Sea Draw Praise from Western Observers

Yemen: The ongoing Yemeni military operations in the Red Sea, specifically the prevention of Israeli and allied ships from passing through strategic waterways, have garnered positive attention from Western academics, intellectuals, and journalists sympathetic to the Palestinian cause.

Professor David Weaver, renowned at various European and American universities, lauded the Yemeni Armed Forces for their strategic planning, execution, and resilience against intelligence penetration attempts by the United States. He emphasized the Yemeni fighters' exceptional intelligence and strategic skills.

As the Yemeni Armed Forces persist in disrupting navigation for Israeli, American, and British ships, in response to perceived crimes committed by the Zionist entity in Gaza and the bombing of Yemen, observers predict a potential setback for the United States.

Brazilian journalist Bebi Escobar highlighted the Yemeni Armed Forces' primary goal of imposing a blockade on ships heading to the ports of occupied Palestine, aiming to halt the Israeli occupation's actions in Gaza. Escobar commended the Yemenis for reshaping political geography and geostrategic economy, not only with missiles and drones but also through strategic acumen.

Escobar noted that Western maritime insurance companies have acknowledged the blockade's impact, refusing coverage for American, British, and Israeli ships—a strategic achievement aligned with Yemeni objectives.

The journalist reported that the US responded to Yemen's moral stance against the Gaza genocide by reclassifying Ansarullah as a "terrorist" organization, launching escalating airstrikes, and forming a small alliance with the UK, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, and Bahrain.

Despite US attempts to portray Sana'a forces as a threat to the global economy, Yemeni operations have successfully countered this narrative, he added.

Yemen's Armed Forces have been staging many strikes against Israeli vessels or those bound for the occupied Palestinian territories' ports.

The operations have been described as a response to an October 7, 2023-present war and siege that the Israeli regime has been waging against Gaza following an operation carried out by the Palestinian territory's resistance movements.

Nearly 26,300 Palestinians, some 70 percent of whom are women, children, and adolescents, have been killed in the brutal onslaught so far.

The United States and the UK also have conducted several missile attacks against Yemeni targets in response to the repeated attacks that Yemen conducted on Israeli-bounded ships in the Red Sea. The aggression was conducted with support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, and the Netherlands.

The Yemeni forces have vowed to keep up their operations as long as the Israeli regime presses on with the military campaign.

Several of the Yemeni strikes have targeted American and British vessels.

The US has been providing the Israeli war with unreserved military and political support, arming the regime with more than 10,000 tons of military hardware, and vetoing all United Nations Security Council resolutions that have called for cessation of the Israeli aggression.
