Al-Re'e commended Webbe's dedication to halting the bombardment in Gaza and Yemen, hoping for her continued advocacy for nations striving for freedom.
"We closely monitor your activities in the British Parliament and your dedication to the Palestinian cause, particularly the suffering of Gaza's population under the aggression of the occupying Israeli forces," he stated. "We have noted your article on the bombing of Yemen and Palestine on the Morning Star website and your assertion that Britain's involvement in the Yemeni bombing, in cooperation with the United States, aims to safeguard Israeli trade and economy under the guise of misleading media coverage and political justifications."
Al-Re'e highlighted Webbe's mention in her article that Yemen has faced airstrikes for the past decade by the Saudi-Emirati coalition, with support from the US and UK in logistical and intelligence capacities.
He also emphasized that as Yemen seeks peace, the US and UK's inclination to bomb Yemen is renewed, to punish Yemenis for fulfilling their humanitarian, ethical, and religious duties towards the oppressed Palestinian people.
Amidst international inaction towards the escalating violence in Palestine and Yemen, British Member of Parliament Claudia Webbe has raised concerns about the role of Western powers in exacerbating the conflicts.
In a report published in the Morning Star newspaper, Webbe highlighted the historical context of the Yemeni conflict, tracing back to British colonization until 1967. She emphasized that Yemen has faced consistent bombing over the past century, with the current crisis being just one episode in a long history of violence.
Webbe pointed out the complicity of Western powers, particularly Britain and the United States, in the conflict. She noted that British Royal Air Force (RAF) ground crews were embedded with the Saudi air force, contributing to airstrikes on civilian targets such as hospitals, funerals, and food stores. This support, she argued, has intensified the suffering of innocent Yemeni civilians.
The report also highlighted Yemen's strategic response to the conflict, with Yemeni forces targeting shipping bound for or owned by Israel. Webbe suggested that these actions were driven by a sense of moral obligation to pressure Israel into ending its violence against civilians in Gaza.
The United States and United Kingdom have been carrying out strikes against Yemen after the Biden administration and its allies offered the Tel Aviv regime unqualified support and said that Yemeni forces bear the consequences of their attacks against Israeli-owned ships or merchant vessels heading to the occupied territories.
Yemeni Armed Forces have said that they won’t stop their attacks until unrelenting Israeli ground and aerial offensives in Gaza, which have killed at least 28,000 Palestinians and more than 67,700 others wounded, come to an end.
These attacks have compelled major shipping and oil companies to suspend their voyages to the ports of the Zionist enemy.
