News - Yemen: Ansarullah spokesman and head of the National Delegation, Mohammed Abdulsalam, blamed the United States and Britain for the consequences of their military actions in the Red Sea.

"We have repeatedly affirmed that only Israeli ships or those heading to the ports of occupied Palestine are targeted to pressure the enemy entity to cease its aggression and siege on Gaza," Abdulsalam tweeted on Thursday.

He added that the US should have responded to the calls of the world's people and compelled Israel to halt its aggression, but it chose the path of escalation and widening the conflict contrary to its claims.

Abdulsalam emphasized that Yemeni forces "only target a ship after warning it not to cross; some comply, some retreat, and some refuse, leading to targeting."

He stressed that the world should not fall into America's deception and forget the genocidal crimes committed by Israel against the people of Gaza with full American support.

Yemen’s Armed Forces have been striking Israeli-linked ships since November 2023 in a campaign to force the occupying regime to end its brutal war on the besieged Gaza Strip.

In response, the US has formed a military coalition in early January against Yemeni forces in the Red Sea and endangered maritime navigation in the strategic waterway.

The United States and Britain have also been carrying out strikes against Yemen to force the country to stop its strikes on Israel-linked ships. That has caused Yemenis to expand their maritime strikes to target ships owned by the two countries.

Israel waged its brutal US-backed war on the Gaza Strip on October 7 after Hamas carried out its historic operation against the usurping entity in retaliation for the regime's intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

So far, the Tel Aviv regime has killed at least 30,717 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 72,156 others.
