News - Middle East: Iran has denounced Israel’s decision to seize 800 hectares of Palestinian land in Jordan Valley.

In a statement on Monday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kan'ani said the seizure of the Palestinian territory is open land theft which violates the inalienable and absolute rights of the Palestinian people.
He warned that the move will also jeopardize international peace.
The Iranian official said the regime is after erasing the people of Palestine “from the river to the sea.”

Kan'ani said Israel’s latest move amounts to the occupation – largest in scale – of Palestinian land since 1993 and the continuation of war crimes against the Palestinians.

It is also a clear example of gross violation of international laws and regulations as well as humanitarian rights, the Iranian official said.

Kan’ani reiterated Iran’s view that the international community, not least the United Nations, needs to shoulder their crucial responsibility in dealing with Israel’s new episode of the occupation of the Palestinian territories. The Iranian official demanded a “firm, effective and deterrent” reaction in this regard.

He underscored respecting the Palestinian people’s right to determine their fate and the formation of an independent Palestinian state “from the sea to the river” with al-Quds as its capital.
This is the only lasting and fair solution that will end Israel's aggressive and expansionist policies in the region, Kan’ani said.
