Sa'adah Exposes Nine Years of US-Saudi Aggression: Statistics Unveiled

News - Yemen: The local authority in Sa'adah province convened a central symposium commemorating the ninth anniversary of National Resilience, marking nearly a decade since the onset of the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression and blockade.

During the event, Deputy Governor Saleh Aqab hailed the remarkable resilience demonstrated by the revolutionary leadership, the Supreme Political Council, the steadfast defenders, and the Yemeni populace in the face of the coalition led by the United States and its allies.

Aqab attributed Yemen's resilience to the visionary leadership of Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi, underscoring the pivotal role played by the martyr leader Sayyed Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi. He emphasized their efforts in galvanizing Yemenis to confront, withstand, and sacrifice against hegemonic forces and global arrogance.

Highlighting Yemen's triumph over the aggression alliance, Aqab lauded the nation's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause, its courageous resistance, and its weekly mass mobilizations, affirming Yemen's victories across multiple fronts.

At the symposium, Yahya Al-Khatib, Director of the Office of Human Rights in Sa'adah, presented comprehensive statistics detailing the impact of nine years of US-Saudi aggression on the province.

Al-Khatib revealed that civilian casualties totaled 13,532, comprising 4,738 martyrs and 8,794 injured. Among them were 1,298 children martyred and 1,412 children injured in coalition airstrikes, along with 772 women martyred and 756 women injured.

Additionally, Al-Khatib outlined the extensive damage to service facilities, including the destruction of 180,331 homes, six universities, 568 mosques, 31 tourist sites, 89 hospitals, 390 schools, eight sports facilities, 35 archaeological sites, and five media facilities, as well as 6,981 agricultural fields.

Addressing infrastructure losses, Al-Khatib condemned the deliberate destruction policy of the aggression, which targeted Sa'adah Airport, demolished 54 power stations and generators, destroyed 1,657 roads and bridges, attacked 164 communication networks and stations, and damaged 1,223 water tanks and networks, along with 196 government facilities.

The Director of the Human Rights Office emphasized that the revealed statistics underscore the brutality and criminality of the coalition of aggression, exposing the complicity of purported human rights organizations that have failed to condemn the aggressors despite Yemen's suffering over nine years of relentless attacks.

Saudi Arabia, backed by the United States and regional allies, launched the war on Yemen in March 2015, claiming the goal of bringing the government of former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi back to power.

The US-Saudi aggression continues to target neighborhoods and populated areas and destroy the infrastructure and capabilities of the country, in light of a suspicious international silence.

The war has left hundreds of thousands of Yemenis dead and displaced millions more. It has also destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure and spread famine and infectious diseases there.
