Urgent Call for Ceasefire and Humanitarian Action in Gaza: Scottish Labour Party Newspaper

News - Middle East: The Scottish Labour Party newspaper, Thursday, emphasized the urgent need for an immediate and permanent cessation of firing to end the genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinians.

It pointed out that the famine in Gaza has become more severe than the famine that occurred during World War II.

A report issued by the newspaper stated that the Labour Party called for the implementation of the right to food according to UN resolutions, criticizing the UN Human Rights Council recently for not doing anything to stop the famine in Gaza, stating that the images of famine in Gaza are unbearable.

It added that "the party called on the Security Council to press for stop the firing and to allow the entry of humanitarian aid that Israel prevents from entering," stressing the importance of stopping sending weapons and money to Israel, describing those countries that send weapons as complicit in genocide and famine.

It indicated that "50% of Gaza's children suffered from chronic shock disorder before this siege, and now the percentage will reach 100%."

Gaza Strip continues to face atrocities as the Israeli occupation intensified its aggression, leading to the loss of innocent lives and widespread destruction. Within just 24 hours, the Ministry of Health in Gaza reported seven new massacres committed by the occupation forces, resulting in the arrival of 71 martyrs and 112 wounded at hospitals.

Friday marked the 175th day of the aggression, during which ‘Israel’ launched numerous airstrikes, conducted artillery shelling and fire belts, while committing bloody massacres against civilians.

In addition to human losses, most of which were children and women, the Israeli aggression caused massive destruction of infrastructure and property, and an ongoing famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly, according to Palestinian and UN data.

The United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs warned yesterday, Thursday, that “time is running out, and obstacles to access to provide aid remain in the Gaza Strip,” stressing that “more than 1.1 million people in Gaza face a severe level of food insecurity.”
