April 18 Over 9 Years: 65 Casualties in US-Saudi Bombings on Sana'a and Sa'adah

Yemen: On this day, April 18th, over the past nine years, the US-Saudi aggression has committed numerous atrocities, targeting infrastructure and essential elements of life. As usual, the initial onslaught was violent and harsh, with the coalition unleashing its full force on Yemeni provinces, falsely believing this would force the Yemeni people to surrender.

Here are the most prominent crimes that occurred on this date over the past nine years:

April 18, 2015: 55 Killed and Wounded in Raids on Civilian Homes in Attan

Numerous airstrikes on Mount Attan resulted in deaths, injuries, and damage to civilian homes in the nearby residential neighborhoods of the Al-Sabeen district in Sana'a on April 18, 2015.

These frenzied raids resulted in 55 casualties, including three fatalities and 52 injuries, caused by 25 air raids that indiscriminately hit civilian homes near the Faj Attan area.

The 25 airstrikes created widespread panic among the residents, one of whom reported that there was only one first-aid hospital nearby, which suffered damage from the intensity of the explosions. Additionally, livestock and other animals belonging to the citizens were not spared from the bombings and were completely destroyed.

Another resident reported that the gases released from the missiles caused severe suffocation; this included his wife who suffers from asthma and was unable to walk, forcing them to carry her on their backs to escape the toxic gases, which are internationally banned and were indiscriminately dropped on the defenseless civilians.

He added that for those citizens whose lives and bodies survived, their homes did not escape destruction and devastation in Faj Attan. Some homes were completely destroyed, others partially, with windows shattered, stones scattered, trees severed, and even cars damaged due to the relentless bombing.

Additionally, it was noted that a mosque in the same area was severely damaged, showing a blatant disregard for the sanctity of the mosque and its religious importance to Muslims.

The situation forced a mass exodus as men, women, and children fled from death, their screams and cries echoing through the night, painting a harrowing picture of the US-Saudi coalition's brutality against unarmed and defenseless civilians.

April 18, 2015: 10 Wounded in Bombing of a Market in Sa'adah

On the same day, within the same year, in the province of Sa'adah, as part of a series of criminal acts targeting densely populated markets, the US-Saudi aggression launched several raids on popular markets in the areas of Dhahyan, Al-Humaydan, and Al-Talh intersection, resulting in martyrs and wounded in the districts of Sahar and Majz.

For nine years, these markets have not escaped the random bombings that have claimed the lives of thousands of innocent civilians seeking their daily sustenance.

Specifically, on this date, April 18, 2015, the aggression escalated its raids on numerous markets, severing people's livelihoods and ripping their bodies apart. This cowardly targeting resulted in 10 civilians sustaining severe injuries in the districts of Sahar and Majz in Sa'adah.

Scenes depicted the continuous and direct targeting of popular markets in short, successive intervals, some occurring simultaneously, displaying the gruesomeness of the systematic and planned criminality by the US administration, aimed at annihilating the free Yemeni people and erasing all sources of their livelihood to foster a state of disorder and chaos among the populace.

The enemy has designated popular markets as legitimate targets, perpetrating all forms of atrocities there.

On the same day, US aggression also targeted equipment belonging to Salab Contracting Company with a treacherous airstrike on the main road in the district of Haydan, Sa'adah province.

During a quiet, cold night, as the owner of Salab was safely passing along the main road in Haydan with his construction and contracting equipment, a sudden treacherous raid transformed that equipment into charred, scattered remains that continued to burn until the next day.

This incident, among others, embodies the true nature of the reckless American aggression, using its outdated, dirty tools in a campaign of killing, destruction, and genocide, annihilating crops and offspring without any justification.

April 18, 2015: Targeting of the Technical and Industrial Institute in Jahanah, Sana'a

Also on this day in 2015, amidst targeting Yemen's infrastructure, the US-Saudi aggression targeted the Technical and Industrial Institute in Kholan, Jahanah district, Sana'a province.

The malevolent raids completely destroyed the institute's buildings, significantly underscoring the enemy's insidious objectives to obliterate education and manufacturing sectors critical for Yemen's development and advancement—goals they oppose due to their arrogance and long-standing imperialist attitudes.

The technical and industrial devices and equipment of the institute were left scattered on the ground, blended with the dust and rubble of the destroyed buildings. Yet, the enemy has not been able to break the Yemeni people's resolve to persistently and progressively engage in manufacturing and development.
