News - Yemen Banking sources confirmed on Saturday that the disruption of the local currency in Aden and other provinces under coalition control continues to severely impact the economic situation, resulting in the depreciation of the Yemeni rial against foreign currencies.

According to these sources, the selling price of one US dollar in Aden and the southern and eastern provinces of Yemen has reached 1683 Yemeni rials, with a buying price of 1675 rials per dollar. The exchange rate for buying and selling the Saudi riyal ranged between 442 and 443 Yemeni rials.

The sources clarified that in Sana'a and provinces under the authority of the Supreme Political Council, the US dollar exchange rate remained stable at 530 rials for buying and 533 rials for selling. Meanwhile, the buying and selling of the Saudi riyal ranged between 139 and 140 Yemeni rials.

The economic collapse has significantly impacted the living conditions of citizens in Aden and other occupied southern provinces, leading to a situation where the Saudi-backed government is unable to pay teachers' salaries.
