Saudi Crown Prince's Actions and Saudi-Israeli Relations: Analysis by International Media

News – Middle East: International media outlets have been analyzing Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's recent actions and their implications for Saudi-Israeli relations.

The Wall Street Journal reported that bin Salman's approach has dealt a blow to the Palestinian cause, either through his leniency in normalization conditions with Israel or by allegedly aiding in protecting Tel Aviv from recent Iranian attacks. Saudi officials have reportedly indicated to the US administration their readiness to accept minimal verbal commitments from Israel to engage in talks regarding the establishment of a Palestinian state.

US officials suggest that successful efforts by several countries to intercept Iranian threats should signal to Israel the potential for enhanced security through closer ties with Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, The Spectator disclosed joint military exercises involving Israeli and Arab pilots, including Saudis, over the Red Sea. This training aims to bolster cooperation witnessed during recent Iranian attacks.

Despite the lack of formal diplomatic relations, senior military leaders from Israel and Saudi Arabia reportedly attend regular meetings hosted by the US Central Command, fostering a developing relationship.

Foreign Policy interpreted Saudi Arabia's reluctance to act against Israeli occupation despite its brutal massacres against Palestinians as driven by economic ties, noting Saudi contributions to Israel's defense by intercepting Iranian threats and providing intelligence to mitigate the risk of regional conflict.

The Financial Times confirmed Saudi Arabia's openness to closer military cooperation with Israel under US auspices. However, Riyadh is unlikely to engage in joint missions or military visits with Israel due to the threat of Iranian missiles. Riyadh's previous rapprochement with Tehran aimed to mitigate this risk.
