April 20, 2015: Over 800 Martyrs and Wounded by Vacuum Bomb in Attan

Yemen: The agony of Yemenis persists day by day due to the relentless US-Saudi aggression, leaving behind wounds that never seem to heal. Among the most haunting tragedies is the devastation inflicted upon the residents of the Attan area in Sana'a during the early days of the US-Saudi aggression in 2015.

The aggression's aircraft targeted this area with a new weapon, a vacuum bomb, known as one of the most destructive weapons in existence.

Yemenis bore witness to the horrifying events of April 20, 2015, either through television screens or firsthand. The explosion unleashed intense flames that soared vertically into the sky, resembling a tree-shaped inferno. Smoke billowed upwards, reaching a height of approximately one kilometer, while thick dust enveloped the neighborhood of Attan.

Rocks from Attan Mountain were hurled over vast distances, causing injuries to numerous citizens and destroying countless vehicles. Homes adjacent to the mountain were reduced to rubble, with their inhabitants turned into charred remains. Those fortunate enough to survive fled their residences and workplaces in a state of panic, reminiscent of a miniature Day of Judgment.

Children cried out in terror, women uttered phrases through tears, and chaos engulfed the streets, spreading panic throughout the capital.

Amid this tragedy, traitors residing in Riyadh's hotels rejoiced over the calamity that befell Sana'a. The city bled profusely that day, its streets stained with blood and tears.

The death toll from this massacre surpassed 120 civilians, with an additional 767 citizens wounded. It was a catastrophe of unimaginable proportions.

On that fateful day, the Ministry of Health issued an urgent appeal for citizens to donate blood at all hospitals, while medical facilities declared a state of emergency and mobilized all available medical personnel.

Among the countless families devastated by the massacre were the Shuja'a al-Din family. Salah Shuja'a al-Din recounted the loss of his sister, Lina Abdul Rahman Qasim Shuja'a al-Din, her husband Abdul Mumen Abdul Wahab Shuja'a al-Din, and their two children, Leith Abdul Mumen Shuja'a al-Din (5 years old). Only by the grace of Allah did Layal Abdul Mumen Shuja'a al-Din, then 12 years old, survive the onslaught. However, many other civilians were not as fortunate.

April 20, 2015, will forever be etched in the memory of Yemenis as a day akin to Judgment Day for the residents of Attan in Sana'a. The detonation of a "vacuum bomb," or as some asserted, a "hydrogen bomb," unleashed unparalleled devastation and marked one of the most egregious massacres perpetrated by the US-Saudi coalition against the Yemeni people in the twenty-first century.

The scenes of horror resembled those of Judgment Day, with bodies strewn about, destruction abound, and mass displacement of residents. The tremors of the explosion reverberated throughout every home in the capital and its environs.

Amidst the chaos, survivors transformed into rescuers for their families and neighbors, while others fled in sheer terror. The aggression's bomb reduced bodies to scattered remains and severed limbs, leaving neighborhoods in disarray. The ensuing panic mirrored the events of the Day of Resurrection in its harrowing detail.

Mothers, children, fathers, and families cried out for aid, and Sana'a's hospitals overflowed with victims and wounded. Urgent pleas for medical assistance echoed throughout the city, as hospitals grappled with the influx of casualties.

Official sources denounced the Attan bomb as a prohibited weapon of mass destruction previously deployed by the US-Saudi coalition against Yemenis, calling for an international investigation to hold the perpetrators accountable.

Specialized medical professionals confirmed that the conditions of the wounded indicated the use of deadly toxins causing suffocation, evident in their respiratory distress.

On that fateful day, the US-Saudi aggression committed an egregious massacre that stains humanity's conscience. The destruction wrought by the explosion engulfed a third of Sana'a's area, resulting in billions in losses and triggering the largest wave of displacement witnessed by the capital.

Through this despicable act, the aggressors sought to coerce the Yemeni people into submission and displacement, furthering their military objectives to occupy Yemen and its capital, Sana'a. Yet, the resilience demonstrated by Yemenis over the past nine years has thwarted their nefarious designs.

On that same day in 2015, the US-Saudi aggression persisted in targeting vital facilities across the capital, Sana'a.

The scenes depicted the aggression's airstrikes destroying and incinerating a plane belonging to Al-Saeeda Airlines, a subsidiary of Yemeni Airlines, along with several other aircraft, amidst intensive bombardment of the runway.

The airstrikes on Sana'a International Airport underscored the US-Saudi coalition's criminal efforts to enforce an aerial blockade, resulting in mass casualties among the Yemeni people and depriving them of access to medical care abroad. This aggression followed their unleashing of prohibited weapons in Faj Attan and multiple Yemeni governorates, leading to hundreds of deaths and injuries simultaneously. The overwhelmed Yemeni healthcare system issued desperate appeals for assistance through the International Red Cross.

Concurrently, amid the coalition's atrocities in Sa'adah and Sana'a Governorates, enemy aircraft targeted the residence of Sheikh Mohsen Abu Nashtan in Arhab District, Sana'a, causing damage to neighboring homes and instilling fear and panic among citizens.

An eyewitness to the bombing remarked, "The aggression targets civilians, but this will not deter us from defending our country and striving for jihad in the path of Allah."

April 20, 2015: 14 Martyrs in Bombing of Two Houses in Sa'adah

On the eve of the aforementioned date in 2015, residents of the Al-Hubajir area in Sahar District, Sa'adah Governorate, retired to bed, unaware that the aggression's aircraft were poised to unleash devastation upon the lives of innocent children and women.

As civilians drifted into sleep within the confines of their homes, the pilot unleashed a barrage of deadly munitions, resulting in a brutal massacre that claimed the lives of six martyrs and left two wounded from a single family. Among the victims were three children and three women, a senseless act of violence that shames humanity. The night transformed into a somber funeral, deepening the sorrow within the hearts of Al-Hubajir's residents and all mourning Yemeni citizens.

The airstrikes perpetrated by the US-Saudi coalition resulted in the obliteration of an entire family, sparing only its elderly matriarch who survived while having dinner. Their home was destroyed, their livestock killed, neighboring residences damaged, and a state of fear and panic gripped the community, motivating citizens to prepare and remain vigilant against the ongoing onslaught over the past nine years.

On the same day, the coalition's aircraft continued their brutal assault on the people of Sa'adah Governorate, targeting another residence in the Azd Mountain area of Razih District. The attack claimed the lives of eight martyrs and inflicted injuries on several members of a single family, constituting yet another egregious act of genocide.

With barely a moment's respite from the fourth atrocity of the day, Saudi aggression resumed its onslaught over the skies of the Maran area in Haydan District, targeting the homes of innocent civilians.

These airstrikes in Maran caused numerous injuries and instilled fear and panic among children and women, their innocence marred by bloodshed, in a deliberate assault on Yemeni childhood and the destruction of private property.

April 20, 2018: 20 Killed and Wounded in US-Saudi Airstrike on Civilian Vehicle in Taiz

On April 20, 2018, in the fourth year of the Saudi-American aggression against Yemen, enemy aircraft targeted a civilian vehicle transporting passengers from the Al-Arish area of Mawza'a District, Taiz Governorate.

As the passengers traveled towards their destination, the US-Saudi aircraft singled them out as a civilian target on its military objectives list, callously disregarding the lives of Yemeni civilians.

The airstrike on the vehicle resulted in the deaths of twenty individuals and left one survivor wounded, the sole witness to the horrific massacre that unfolded. The scene was one of utter devastation, with bodies torn apart, bloodshed, and innocent lives lost along the public road. The car's burning wreckage bore witness to the ferocity of the attack, with flames engulfing everything in sight.

The aftermath of the aggression's crime depicted heart-wrenching scenes of families searching for their loved ones amidst the devastation, adding to the tragedy. This atrocity underscores the blatant disregard of the US-Saudi coalition for the lives of Yemeni civilians, violating all laws, divine principles, and international humanitarian norms prohibiting the targeting of civilians. It also highlights the complicity and cowardice of the international community, purported human rights organizations, and United Nations agencies, who stand by while Yemeni lives are sacrificed and genocidal crimes are perpetrated against its population.
