April 21 Over 9 Years: 34 Casualties in Bombings on Sana'a, Marib, Ibb, Hajjah and Sa'adah

Yemen: As Yemen marks the ninth year of aggression, its people continue to endure relentless brutality and crimes perpetrated by the US-Saudi aggression, targeting all facets of daily life, from public infrastructure to private homes.

Here are the key events of April 21:

On this day in 2015, the US-Saudi aggression launched multiple airstrikes on the residence of the Martyr Leader, Sayyed Hussein al-Houthi, along with civilian homes in the Maran area of Haydan district, Sa'adah governorate.

These strikes resulted in significant damage to the targeted residences, reflecting the enemy's ruthless approach, characterized by indiscriminate destruction and loss of Yemeni lives. The sustained airstrikes over the years ultimately led to the complete devastation of homes in Maran, Sa'adah, underscoring the relentless assault on civilian infrastructure.

Before that, the Maran area had endured repeated attacks by the previous collaborating regime, which had waged six oppressive wars on Maran, Saada, with the green light from the United States.

April 2015: 50 Martyrs and Injured in the Bombing of Al-Daleel Bridge in Ibb Governorate

On April 21, 2015, the relentless targeting of public infrastructure by the US-Saudi aggression continued, with bridges being a prime focus across various governorates. In Ibb Governorate, Al-Daleel Bridge, situated below Nqeil Samarah, bore the brunt of this aggression, resulting in the tragic loss and injury of 50 citizens.

The airstrikes claimed the lives of 24 civilians and left 26 others wounded, with varying degrees of severity, sparking panic and fear among passersby and residents in the vicinity. Eyewitnesses recounted how citizens rushed to aid the wounded after the initial strike, only to face a second airstrike, exacerbating the casualties, including women and children.

The aftermath of the bombing depicted scenes of horror, with scattered remains of victims, blood-soaked surroundings, and the once-sturdy bridge reduced to rubble. Some victims were unidentifiable, their bodies charred and mingled with the debris, while others were left hanging from nearby trees.

This heinous act of aggression not only claimed innocent lives but also left many permanently disabled and inflicted long-lasting trauma on survivors. The targeting of vital infrastructure disrupted livelihoods and severed vital transportation routes, plunging families into despair and uncertainty.

The senseless loss of life and destruction of resources sparked widespread condemnation and anger among citizens, questioning the rationale behind such ruthless attacks on civilians. Innocent individuals, merely seeking to provide for their families, found themselves thrust into the ranks of the deceased and disabled, victims of a war they did not choose.

April 21, 2015: 83 Martyrs and Injured in US-Saudi Targeting of Popular Market in Hajjah

On this fateful day in 2015, amidst the customary targeting of popular markets and public places by the enemy forces, the city of Haradh in Hajjah Governorate bore witness to a tragic event. At one o'clock after midnight, the aggression's aircraft mercilessly targeted the market, resulting in the martyrdom of 13 citizens and leaving 70 others critically wounded.

The brutality of the attack extended to the destruction of a telecommunications network owned by the Sabafon company, further exacerbating the devastation. The night was described as "bloody," with the ground soaked in the blood of innocent citizens who were in their homes within the market.

Of particular note was the indiscriminate nature of the injuries, affecting individuals of all ages, including the elderly. The wounded were rushed to overwhelmed health centers and hospitals, their bodies bearing the scars of this senseless violence.

This massacre was sadly not an isolated incident but rather a recurring nightmare inflicted upon Yemeni civilians by the US-Saudi aggressors, who have shown no regard for human life or dignity. The bodies of the martyrs were laid to rest, yet their memory lives on as a testament to the ongoing suffering endured by the Yemeni people.

April 21, 2015, Hysterical Bombardment on Homes of Citizens in Hamdan, Sana'a

In addition to the tragedy in Haradh, April 21, 2015, witnessed further atrocities as the homes of citizens in Hamdan, Sana'a, came under hysterical bombardment. The airstrikes in the Al-Ghaosh area of Dhula'a Hamdan caused widespread fear and destruction, forcing residents to flee their homes in terror.

False claims of missile depots in the area led to mass displacement, leaving innocent children and women traumatized by the relentless assault. This pattern of displacement and destruction has become all too familiar in Yemen, as evidenced by subsequent attacks on districts such as Serwah in Marib Governorate and Shida in Sa'adah Governorate in the following years.

The crimes committed by the US-Saudi aggression against Yemen will forever be etched in the nation's collective memory. Despite the passage of time and shifting circumstances, the Yemeni people remain steadfast in their pursuit of justice and their unwavering commitment to defending their rights against all forms of aggression.
