April 24 Over 9 Years: 50 Martyrs and Wounded in Genocidal Attacks in Hajjah and Sa'adah

Yemen: Since March 26, 2015, the US-Saudi aggression has continued its organized crimes and brutal massacres, targeting the Yemeni people and destroying crops, generations, civilian assets, infrastructure, vital life necessities, citizens' interests, and basic services. This has occurred amidst international silence, complicity, and UN indifference, exploiting the people's suffering throughout nine years of aggression and blockade.

On April 24, 2017, and 2018, the aggression focused its crimes on Hajjah and Sa'adah governorates, resulting in the martyrdom of 29 civilians, including children and women, and the injury of 21 others in attacks on a fuel station in Hajjah and a water well and a main road in Saada.

Below are the highlights of the crimes on this day:

April 24, 2017: US-Saudi Aggression Targets Main Road in Razih, Sa'adah

This wasn't the first time the US-Saudi aggression targeted the lifelines between Yemeni provinces, districts, and regions. Major roads and important bridges have been strategic targets for airstrikes aimed at cutting off, delaying, and increasing the costs of food and medicine supplies to Yemeni citizens in many rural and border districts since the beginning of the aggression.

On April 24, 2017, airstrikes by the US-Saudi aggression targeted the main road in the Borkan area for the third time in Razih district, Sa'adah governorate. This area connects Razih district with Sheda district and other border areas directly engaged in conflicts with mercenaries and the Saudi enemy's army on multiple fronts.

An eyewitness lifting large fragments from a large crater says, "Thanks to Allah, in the third year, every time the aggression increases its use of destructive weapons, our strength, resilience, and steadfastness increase, as does our general mobilization and support to the fronts with convoys of money and men. Our trust in Allah increases, and our belief in His victory and retribution for the righteous."

The documented scenes of the main road in the mountains of Razih overlooking the Saudi border reveal the reasons for the aggression's targeting of car movement and the main road. They also reveal the true goal of the aggression's failed attempts to cut off food and medicine supplies to the people in those areas and how the enemy plans to exacerbate the suffering to pressure them into displacement from their homes and farms, which have played a major role in enhancing their resilience and steadfastness despite the magnitude and severity of the sacrifices.

The airstrikes destroyed the edge of the main road in a narrow turn amidst a towering mountain, halting transportation for days, delaying the needs of citizens and patients, and damaging a citizen's car, as shown in the scenes of it being towed behind another car.

The airstrikes on the main road in Sa'adah reflected the level of military escalation reached by the enemy in 2017 on the border fronts and the western coast. However, it failed in the face of the resilience, steadfastness, and jihad of the Yemeni people.

April 24, 2018: 44 Martyrs and Wounded in Aggression's Targeting of Fuel Station in Hajjah

On April 24, 2018, the resilient inhabitants of Shafar City in Abs district, Hajjah governorate, continued to endure the ongoing aggression for the fourth year. The enemy's aircraft closely monitored their movements as they gathered at Al-Waraki station to refuel, their cars filling up one after another.

As the citizens neared the station, the cowardly aggressors seized the opportunity for ground confrontation. They unleashed airstrikes and torrents of hatred upon the unsuspecting civilians, igniting fuel fires and triggering explosions that scattered bodies and limbs in all directions. Amidst the chaos, the wounded struggled to crawl from beneath rubble and burning wreckage, while others searched desperately for loved ones amidst the devastation.

Rescuers faced daunting challenges as they navigated through fire, smoke, and fear of renewed airstrikes. The number of martyrs rose, and the wounded feared becoming targets themselves as they awaited assistance. Tragically, many lives were lost due to delayed rescue efforts, with some victims remaining trapped under rubble for hours.

"Save my father, he's still has a breath."

It's the voice of an injured child next to his injured father, asking rescuers to assist his father, as his heart still beats, and his breaths are still.

Rescuers gather around the body, pressing on a blood-drenched chest to ensure life, and the breath resumes, accompanied by a slight movement, bringing hope.

Rescuers worked tirelessly to save lives, but the toll of the aggression's brutality was evident in the shattered bodies and shattered lives left in its wake.

The people of Abs district in Hajjah governorate condemned the heinous crime perpetrated against innocent civilians, vowing to continue living with freedom, dignity, and pride despite the aggression's attempts to instill fear. The airstrikes on Fadel Al-Waraki station claimed the lives of 26 martyrs and left 18 wounded, leaving behind a scene of destruction and sorrow that reverberated throughout Hajjah and beyond.

April 24, 2018: 6 Martyrs and Wounded in Aggression's Bombardment of Water Well Digger in Sa'adah

On April 24, 2018, the aircraft of the US-Saudi aggression targeted a water well digger in the Al-Ja'malah area of the Muzah district in Sa'adah governorate.

The aggression's airstrikes deliberately aimed at public utilities and citizen services, part of an organized plan to disrupt essential infrastructure and deprive civilians of basic necessities like water. This strategic targeting of vital resources is a calculated attempt to undermine the agricultural sector, exacerbate the suffering of the Yemeni people, and force them towards displacement.

Under the cover of darkness, the US-Saudi aircraft carried out their attack, claiming the lives of six workers at the water well digger. This ruthless act constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, with civilian objects being directly targeted, all while the international community remains silent.

The airstrikes in the Muzah area resulted in the deaths of three civilians and the injury of three others, part of a systematic campaign of extermination meticulously planned and executed with coordination between local collaborators and command centers in Riyadh and Washington.

Additionally, the airstrikes caused extensive damage to property, including the destruction of cars, damage to a nearby mosque and its holy Quran, and harm to citizens' farms. The wanton destruction and disregard for civilian lives instilled a sense of panic and fear, particularly among women and children.

This aggression highlights the enemy's deliberate tactics to disrupt the livelihoods of Yemeni civilians, compounded by external siege measures such as the blockade on oil derivatives, restrictions on bank transfers, and salary cuts. Despite these challenges, the Yemeni people continue to demonstrate resilience and steadfastness, providing support to the frontlines with both financial contributions and manpower, amidst ongoing suffering and hardship.
