News - World: Students from the universities of Oxford and Cambridge in Britain staged demonstrations in support of Palestine, following the protests that began at Columbia University in the United States and spread to many other universities.

According to media reports, pro-Palestinian students at Oxford University set up tents in the gardens of Beit Riverz Museum.

The group calling themselves "Oxford Organization for Palestine" confirmed in a post on the "X" that Oxford University facilitated genocide by investing in companies cooperating with Israel.

The participating students demanded that their university sever ties with the implicated companies, stating that they would continue their protests until their demands are met.

On the other hand, a group called "Cambridge for Palestine," comprising students from Cambridge University, announced that they would camp on King's Parade to protest their university's investment in companies collaborating with Israel.

The students stated that their university supports the genocide committed by Israel against Palestinians in Gaza and that they refuse to remain indifferent to this situation.

The group added, "We stand with all Palestinians and demand that Cambridge University disclose all its relationships with organizations that aid and incite genocide in Gaza, and end those relationships."

On April 18 last year, students and academics opposed to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip began a sit-in at Columbia University in New York City, demanding that its administration cease academic cooperation with Israeli universities and withdraw investments in companies supporting the occupation of Palestinian territories.

As police intervened and arrested dozens of protesters at American universities, the anger spread, leading to protests at universities in countries such as France, Britain, Germany, Canada, and India, all in solidarity with their counterparts at American universities, demanding an end to the war on Gaza and a boycott of companies supplying Israel with weapons.
