News – Yemen:  Abdulrahman Al-Wali, a leader in the Southern Movement and an academic at the University of Aden, issued an urgent appeal on Tuesday regarding the dire humanitarian situation facing residents of the occupied governorates under the Saudi-Emirati occupation.

Al-Wali confirmed that citizens in the occupied city of Aden are suffering from severe hunger and prolonged power outages. He described the situation as dire, with the Saudi-backed government and the Southern Transitional Council (STC) affiliated with the Emirati occupation failing to provide solutions. He emphasized that people in Aden and the rest of the occupied southern governorates are facing literal death.

He highlighted that residents of Aden are struggling to obtain basic necessities and are no longer able to protest in public spaces. Al-Wali pointed out that activists in the southern governorates have been subdued, with many having aligned themselves with external parties. He called upon honorable and free individuals to take action to improve the current situation, alleviate the suffering of the people, and address the real tragedy that has led to these conditions.

In 2015, Saudi and Emirati forces entered the city of Aden from Bir Ali, citing the need to repel the "Houthi-Iranian" intervention and secure international navigation. It didn't take long after the arrival of these forces for the new British-style experiment to take shape.

This comes amid escalating anger and popular discontent among citizens in the occupied southern and eastern provinces due to the collapse of the electricity system in many of these provinces. The pro-aggression government has failed to provide the necessary fuel to operate power plants and save citizens from the intense summer heat.
