News - Yemen: The security breakdown continues to widen in the southern and eastern provinces under the control of mercenaries and the Saudi-Emirati occupation.

In recent days, media outlets affiliated with the mercenaries have reported on the Southern Transitional Council militia, backed by the Emirati occupation, conducting a systematic and organized campaign targeting prominent tribal figures and social leaders in the occupied Abyan province. This has prompted the province's tribes to denounce these operations and warn against repeating scenarios of regional warfare, bloody events, and purge operations.

Activists in Abyan province say that the defamation and abuse campaigns faced by the province's elders at the hands of the Emirati occupation mercenaries are a prelude to the liquidation and assassination of these figures. They consider the campaign conducted by the Transitional Council as undermining efforts at reconciliation and tolerance, which political components in the occupied southern provinces have been attempting to achieve to move past the legacy of bloody past events.

In 2015, Saudi and Emirati forces entered the city of Aden from Bir Ali, citing the need to repel the "Ansarullah intervention and secure international navigation". It didn't take long after the arrival of these forces for the new British-style experiment to take shape.

This comes amid escalating anger and popular discontent among citizens in the occupied southern and eastern provinces due to the collapse of the electricity system in many of these provinces.
