Khan Younis Again
The temporary entity realizes that most of the war's objectives have not been achieved because the resistance in Gaza is shifting its combat doctrine from semi-military frameworks to classical guerrilla warfare based on hit-and-run tactics, alongside the continuous attrition of support fronts in Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq, which will extend to the next front in the occupied West Bank. Palestinian attacks against settlers are increasing and have never stopped, indicating a belief that the entity today faces an existential threat if the Netanyahu government continues this course. Large forces of the Israeli army attacked the city of Khan Younis three months after its withdrawal, launching extensive attacks since Monday morning, resulting in the martyrdom of at least 70 Palestinians at the time of writing this report.
Palestinian sources reported that since morning, Nasser Medical Hospital has received wounded individuals in batches, as Israeli shelling continues on the eastern areas of Khan Younis. Hundreds of families are trapped in their homes due to the Israeli incursion and intense fire belts east of the city, with more than 200,000 people displaced to the Al-Mawasi area and western parts of the city. The occupying army began infiltrating the areas of Al-Zana, Abasan, and Bani Suhaila under heavy fire cover, and injuries were recorded in the Al-Bureij area in the central sector due to Israeli artillery shells near the Abu Assi station west of the area.
Regarding the impact of new evacuation orders on Palestinians, sources indicated that the new evacuation orders for residents of the eastern region and some areas in central Khan Younis mean the closure of the Bani Suhaila junction, which separates the east of the city from its center and west. This closure is likely to deepen the humanitarian crisis in Khan Younis, which recently witnessed the displacement of about 250,000 civilians.
Operational Situation of the Resistance in the Past 24 Hours:
In the context of daily operations, Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced targeting an Apache helicopter with a Sam-7 missile while it was firing at citizens east of Al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip. Al-Qassam fighters blew up part of a tunnel and targeted tanks during their resistance against invading occupation forces in the Gaza Strip. The brigades stated: "We targeted three Zionist Merkava tanks and a D9 military bulldozer with Yassin-105 shells and Shawaz explosive devices in the Bani Suhaila area east of Khan Younis in the southern sector."
In a military statement, they mentioned targeting a Merkava-4 tank with a Yassin-105 shell and using a Shawaz explosive device in the Al-Furqan neighborhood in Tel al-Sultan west of Rafah city, where Al-Qassam fighters were able to detonate part of a tunnel against enemy engineering forces while they were pumping explosive gas inside it, causing a reverse explosion towards enemy forces in Tel al-Sultan neighborhood west of Rafah in the southern sector. Al-Qassam fighters engaged with a Zionist force inside a building at point-blank range, inflicting casualties in the Al-Furqan neighborhood in Tel al-Sultan west of Rafah city.
Al-Qassam Brigades, in collaboration with the Popular Front, bombarded enemy forces invading northeast of Al-Bureij camp in the central sector with mortar shells and targeted a Zionist Merkava-4 tank with a Yassin-105 shell in the Al-Furqan neighborhood in Tel al-Sultan west of Rafah city. The brigades bombarded enemy forces invading northeast of Al-Bureij camp in the central sector with mortar shells and shelled the enemy command headquarters in the Netsarim axis with the short-range Rajum missile system with a 114mm caliber.
For its part, Saraya al-Quds stated: "We bombed the military sites of Kerem Abu Salem and Sufa east of Rafah city in the southern sector with mortar shells."
Meanwhile, Omar al-Qasem Forces said: "We bombed enemy soldier gatherings inside the Kissufim military site east of Khan Younis with mortar shells."
Israeli Enemy Accumulates Human Losses:
In this regard, Hebrew media sources announced on Monday the death of two officers in the ongoing battles in the Gaza Strip. The Hebrew 0404 website mentioned one of them, Captain Mordechai Kadmon from the Nof Ayalon settlement northwest of Al-Quds, who was killed in the sector's battles, while several other soldiers were injured.
The Israeli occupation army stated: "17 Israeli soldiers were injured in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours," and confirmed the death of another officer in a hand grenade explosion in the Gaza Strip, noting that the military police are opening an investigation. Occupation media reported casualties among Israeli army ranks due to a tunnel explosion in Rafah, but did not elaborate on the details.
According to data published by the occupation army on its website, the number of injured soldiers since the beginning of the war on October 7 reached 4,199, with 2,147 injured in the ground operation that began on the 27th of the same month. Thus, the announced number of military personnel killed in the battles since October 7 rises to 683 soldiers and officers, in addition to thousands injured with varying degrees of severity.
Israeli media confirmed the deaths of prisoners Alex Dantziz and Yegav Buchstav last December in Khan Younis during army operations, noting that the army announced the death of 46 Israeli prisoners out of 120 in Gaza.
In this regard, the families of Israeli prisoners in Gaza said: "The news about the death of two detainees confirms the need to return them from what they called the danger of death they live every moment." The detainees' families demanded the "entity's government immediately approve the exchange deal to bring back their sons."
