Russia Dismisses Zelensky's Talk of Plan to End War in Ukraine
News - Middle East: Russia says it will continue its “special military operation” in Ukraine until all of its goals are achieved, dismissing Volodymyr Zelensky’s remarks about a plan to end the war in his country.
The Ukrainian president, Zelensky, said Tuesday that his forces invasion of the Russian Kursk region is part of a larger plan to end the war in his country.
Speaking at a news conference of top officials, Zelensky said he had no intent to permanently annex the region and will present his plan to US President Joe Biden — along with presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump — this fall.
“The main point … is forcing Russia to end the war,” Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian leader however declined to provide details of his plan.
On Wednesday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov dismissed Zelensky’s remarks, saying, “This is not the first time that we have heard such statements from representatives of the Kiev regime.”
“We are continuing our special military operation and will achieve all of our goals,” Peskov said.
