Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the official spokesman for the Armed Forces, confirmed that the operation was executed using several appropriate missiles and drones, resulting in a direct hit on the ship.
General Saree stated that the ship was targeted after the owning company violated the ban on entering the ports of occupied Palestine, adding that the operation was conducted jointly by the Rocketry, Naval, and Air Force.
He also clarified that the Yemeni Armed Forces renew their warnings to all companies dealing with the Israeli enemy that their ships will be targeted in the area of operations, regardless of their destination.
On Saturday, Yemeni Armed Forces continued their special operations against ships linked to the Israeli enemy as part of Yemen's military stance in support of the Palestinian people.
The official spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Sare'e, announced in a statement that a military operation had been carried out against the ship GROTON in the Gulf of Aden. This action was taken because the ship's owning company violated the decision prohibiting entry into the ports of occupied Palestine.
Brigadier General Yahya Sare'e clarified that the operation was carried out by the "naval forces, the drone air force, and the missile force," confirming that it resulted in the ship being hit accurately and directly.
He stated that this targeting is the second attack on the ship after it was targeted on August 3rd of this year, adding that this message confirms that defiance against the decisions of the Armed Forces will lead to companies in violation facing inevitable targeting.
He also reiterated that the Yemeni Armed Forces confirm their success in preventing Israeli navigation in the Red Sea, as well as enforcing the navigation ban in the declared operational area on all ships linked to the Israeli enemy or dealing with it, regardless of their destination or ships belonging to companies with connections to this enemy.
Yahya Sare'e concluded the statement by affirming the continuation of the naval armed forces' operations in their operational area, as well as their ongoing support for the courageous Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank until the aggression stops and the blockade on the Palestinian people in Gaza is lifted.
The Yemeni Armed Forces announced in a military statement on Thursday that they had carried out a military operation targeting the oil ship Sounion, which belongs to a company dealing with the Israeli enemy and had violated the ban on entering the ports of occupied Palestine.
The statement confirmed that the ship was hit accurately and directly while sailing in the Red Sea and is at risk of sinking.
Since Yemen entered the Al-Aqsa Storm battle in support of Gaza and imposed a blockade on Zionist navigation through Arab seas, the Yemeni Armed Forces have conducted dozens of operations against enemy ships violating the blockade.
