Saudi Arabia Denies Attack on Oil Tanker Amid US and UK Claims

News - Yemen: Saudi Arabia has denied that one of its oil tankers was attacked in the Red Sea, responding to statements from the US Central Command and the British Maritime Trade Operations, which claimed that a Saudi vessel had been targeted. According to observers, this has put Washington and London in an embarrassing position.

A statement from the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia, Bahri, clarified: "In response to reports regarding the incident involving the oil tanker Amjad (IMO: 9779800) belonging to Bahri, we confirm that the Amjad was sailing north in the Red Sea near another tanker that was attacked."

The statement from the Saudi company firmly asserted that the Amjad was not targeted, and neither sustained damage nor injuries. It also noted that the tanker is continuing its journey at full capacity towards its planned final destination without any interruptions.

Doubts About the Accuracy of UK, US Information

The statement from the Saudi National Shipping Company has raised many doubts about the accuracy of the information provided by official institutions in the US and Britain regarding the naval military operations carried out by Sana'a forces to prevent ships from reaching Israeli-occupied ports.

Observers believe that Washington and London would not hesitate to fabricate information about Yemen's operations to prevent ships from reaching Israeli-occupied ports, especially since the US and Britain are parties to the naval confrontations, providing unconditional support and protection to the Zionist entity.

Observers also believe that the statement from the Saudi National Shipping Company exposed the false claims made by the US Central Command and the British Maritime Trade Operations. These institutions announced on Monday that Sana'a forces had launched attacks targeting two crude oil tankers in the Red Sea, one flying the Saudi flag and the other the Panamanian flag.

They argue that the discrepancy between the statements from Riyadh and those from Washington and London raises questions about the details of the incident and the accuracy of the information provided by Washington and London regarding the naval operations conducted by Sana'a forces.

Observers have questioned why the US and Britain, allies in the war on Yemen, are focusing on and highlighting the incident involving a Saudi ship in the Red Sea for the second consecutive day, accusing Sana'a forces of being behind the attack.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said Monday that the "Houthis" attacked two crude oil-laden tankers -- the Panama- flagged/owned, Greek-operated MV Blue Lagoon I and the Saudi-flagged, owned and operated MV Amjad -- with two ballistic missiles.

Yemen's Armed Forces spokesman Yahya Sare'e confirmed on Monday that the forces had attacked the Panama-flagged MV Blue Lagoon I for breaching a Yemeni embargo on vessels entering Israeli ports. He, however, did not mention any attack on the Saudi-flagged ship.

The Yemenis have been targeting Israeli-linked cargo ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden in solidarity with the Gaza Strip, which has been under a brutal Israeli onslaught that killed nearly 40,800 people since Oct. 7 last year.

The Armed Forces have maintained that they only target ships passing through the Red Sea that are linked to Israel, the US or the UK.
