Oct. 14 Over 9 Years: Martyrs, Injuries, Genocide, and Destruction of Farms and Infrastructure from US-Saudi Airstrikes in Yemen

Yemen: On October 14, during the years 2015, 2016, and 2018, the US-Saudi aggression deliberately committed war crimes, genocide, and brutal massacres against the Yemeni people. It destroyed homes, farms, communication networks, educational facilities, and roads in a series of airstrikes across the provinces of Sa'adah, Amran, Ibb, and Dhamar.

These attacks resulted in numerous martyrs and injuries, causing waves of grief and displacement, further worsening the economic and service-related struggles. The tragedies left deep emotional scars, especially among children who lost their mothers, and mothers who lost their children. The horror of these events is a testament to the gross violation of international laws and humanitarian conventions.

Here are the key details of the aggression's crimes on this day:

2015: Martyrs and Injuries in Airstrikes on the Main Road in Sa'adah

On October 14, 2015, the US-Saudi aggression targeted the main road in the Tighrad area, Saqin district, Sa'adah province, with several brutal airstrikes. These strikes left numerous martyrs and injuries, causing panic among travelers and passersby. The once-busy road turned into a scene of horror, with body parts scattered and the landscape transformed into a one-sided war zone.

The residents lived in constant fear of further strikes, as the aggression's air raids on civilians have continued for nine years, systematically destroying Yemen's infrastructure.

2016: Four Martyrs and an Injured Woman in a Genocide Crime in Amran

On the same day in 2016, the US-Saudi airstrikes targeted the home of citizen Hussein Anf in the Harf area, Sufyan district, Amran province. This attack killed four members of his family, including three children and an elderly man, and injured an elderly woman. The entire house was destroyed, and neighboring homes were damaged, forcing many families to flee the area.

2016: Four Martyrs and Injuries in Airstrikes on an Educational Center in Ibb

On October 14, 2016, the aggression airstrikes targeted an educational center in the Seerah area, Ibb province. This attack resulted in one martyr, three injuries, and significant damage to the building. The residents were gripped with fear as the strikes hit one of the essential pillars of learning, with the intent to cripple Yemen's future.

2016: A Woman Killed by Aggression Artillery on Farms in Sa'adah

On the same day in Sa'adah, US-Saudi artillery targeted farms in Bani Sayah, Razih district, killing a woman and damaging the crops. The story of this mother, who left behind six children, reflects the countless tragedies endured by Yemeni families due to these attacks.

2016: Airstrikes Cut Off Communications in Dhamar

The aggression also targeted the communications network in Mount Isbil, Maifa'a Ans district, Dhamar province. The airstrikes destroyed the communication tower, cutting off residents from the outside world. This brutal attack deprived locals of basic communication, leaving families in panic and isolation.

2018: Airstrikes Destroy Farms in Sa'adah

On October 14, 2018, the US-Saudi airstrikes targeted farms in the border district of Baqim, Sa'adah province. These strikes destroyed crops, water pumps, solar systems, and irrigation networks, wiping out the farmers’ livelihoods. This attack exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, leaving families without food or income.

These war crimes, which have continued for nine years, are a clear violation of international humanitarian laws. They reflect a systematic approach to genocide, targeting civilians, infrastructure, and agriculture. The international community must act swiftly to stop these atrocities, hold the aggressors accountable, and stand with the Yemeni people in their ongoing suffering.
