News - Yemen: The Yemeni Armed Forces have unveiled a new naval weapon, a torpedo boat named Al-Qari’ah "The Calamity", designed to target enemy ships and maritime assets.

The Armed Forces have not disclosed the specific characteristics of this weapon, which was shown for the first time. However, footage of the torpedo boat suggests it has the ability to operate both on and beneath the water’s surface and can be controlled remotely. 

The footage also demonstrated the weapon's massive destructive power as it targeted and struck a vessel simulating “enemy ships.”

Military observers and analysts view it as a significant addition to the Yemeni Armed Forces' arsenal, particularly in naval capabilities, given the ongoing support for Gaza and Lebanon. This development takes place amidst maritime confrontations between Sana'a and the U.S.-British coalition, which seeks to protect "Israeli" navigation.

The large-scale joint land and sea maneuvers mark a strategic success for the Yemeni army amidst ongoing American and British aggression, reassuring resistance movements in Gaza and Lebanon that they are not alone. Yemen will steadfastly continue to support them.

Since the onset of Israel's war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, following the Palestinian resistance's surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, Yemen has openly declared its support for Palestine. The Yemeni Armed Forces have vowed to continue their attacks until the Israeli ground and aerial offensives in Gaza cease and have reiterated their readiness to deploy all military capabilities against Israel, including support for Lebanon's Hezbollah resistance movement.
