News - Yemen: A growing civil movement in the occupied city of Aden has condemned the widespread corruption within the institutions of the Saudi-backed government.

The Democratic Civil Movement issued a statement on Sunday calling for an uprising against the puppet government and demanding accountability and prosecution for its officials.

The statement warned the Saudi-backed government of consequences if it continues corrupt practices, threatening direct action in cooperation with other national forces if the mercenaries persist in corruption and looting public funds. This corruption has fueled a devastating economic collapse and a steep drop in the value of the Yemeni rial against foreign currencies in Aden and other occupied provinces.

The movement highlighted that ongoing corruption has led to soaring poverty and hunger rates across the southern and eastern provinces, alongside a lack of essential services.

It declared that the people of Aden will no longer tolerate the chaotic policies and corruption of collaborators and mercenaries of the aggression.

The Democratic Civil Movement called for an independent committee to investigate the puppet government’s performance over recent years, expose the corruption, and hold those responsible accountable.

Protests in Aden align with similar demonstrations in Hadhramout and other coalition-controlled areas, as citizens struggle with unprecedented living conditions that have driven all residents of the occupied southern and eastern provinces below the poverty line.

The economic collapse has severely impacted lives in Aden and other occupied southern regions, with the Saudi-backed government now unable to pay teachers' salaries.
