In a televised statement, Armed Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Sare'e confirmed that the precise strike resulted in a fire near the targeted site in occupied Jaffa.
The Armed Forces stated that the operation was in support of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples and their resistance efforts, as part of the fifth escalation phase. They stressed that they will continue military operations in response to Zionist crimes in Gaza and Lebanon, which will not cease until the blockade on Gaza and aggression against Lebanon end.
Earlier on Monday, Zionist media reported fires in the "Shemesh" area of the occupied West Bank following an explosion attributed to a missile launched from Yemen.
Zionist media released conflicting information about the strike, as the enemy forces restricted details except for those approved by their authorities.
Initially, the Zionist army reported that a missile from the east triggered alarms in southern and central West Bank areas, with sirens sounding in western West Bank settlements and "Kiryat Gat" in central occupied Palestine.
Israeli forces claimed they detected a missile launched from the east toward settlements in the western West Bank and central occupied Palestine, pointing to fires in Shemesh.
Later, a Zionist military spokesperson said Yemen launched a missile toward southern West Bank areas and west of occupied Jerusalem.
Amid confusion among Zionist circles, the army claimed it intercepted the Yemeni missile outside occupied Palestine's borders, despite smoke rising over "Beit Shemesh" west of Al-Quds.
The operation comes amid continued airstrikes by the US-British coalition over the past three days on the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, and the governorates of Sa'adah, Amran, and Hodeidah, in support of the Zionist entity.
Since the onset of Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, the Yemeni forces have carried out scores of operations in support of the war-hit Gazans, striking targets throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to targeting Israeli ships or vessels heading towards ports in the occupied territories.
Israel launched the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023 after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas waged the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in response to the Israeli regime's decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against Palestinians.
The regime’s bloody onslaught on Gaza has so far killed at least 43,603 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured more than 102,929 others. Thousands more are also missing and presumed dead under rubble.
Israel has also been targeting Lebanon since October 2023, when it launched a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.
Since late September, the regime has escalated its strikes on Lebanon, killing hundreds of people.
Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement has been responding to the aggression with numerous retaliatory operations, targeting the occupied Palestinian territories.
