News - Yemen: Local sources in Marib Governorate have reported the death of Naif Mohammed Al-Husseini Al-Muradi due to torture in the prisons operated by mercenaries of the US-Saudi aggression.

The victim's family recently discovered his death in the "Political Security" prison after being kept in the dark for four years. His body, retrieved from the morgue of Marib General Hospital, bore clear signs of torture. This revelation came after the prison administration refused to disclose his fate, and the family was informed by another inmate.

This crime has sparked widespread condemnation, especially among the Murad tribe, to which the victim belonged. Tribal leaders have vowed to hold the perpetrators and prison officials accountable for the atrocity.

Marib and other occupied provinces are plagued by security chaos, marked by murders, kidnappings, and torture of civilians. Such crimes, enabled by complicit security authorities under the control of the US-Saudi aggression, have escalated to deliberate killings and threats against civilians.

These actions in occupied provinces amount to war crimes and blatant violations of international human rights and humanitarian law. Yet, human rights organizations have largely remained silent on these violations.

In May 2021, the Media Center for Southern Governorates released a report highlighting covert prisons across the southern provinces of Yemen. These facilities, described as "black sites," are used by Saudi-Emirati forces to suppress opposition to their occupation and destructive policies.

Despite Abu Dhabi’s announcement of its withdrawal from Yemen in October 2019, UAE-linked secret prisons remain operational. Former government-run detention centers have been transformed into facilities managed by militias under Saudi-Emirati control.

Aden has been identified as a central hub for these secret prisons. Though Saudi forces officially took control in October 2019, these facilities continue to operate, perpetuating systematic abuses and violations.
