Yemeni Armed Forces Target Israeli-Linked Ship in Red Sea Amid Ongoing Blockade on Israel

News - Yemen: The Yemeni Armed Forces announced that they targeted a ship in the Red Sea with several suitable ballistic and naval missiles, achieving a direct hit.

In a televised statement on Tuesday, Armed Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree stated that the forces targeted the ship Anadolu S in the Red Sea with a precise strike.

He explained that the targeting operation occurred because the ship failed to respond to warnings from the Yemeni Armed Forces and due to its owning company's violation of the decision to ban entry to ports in occupied Palestine.

The Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a naval blockade on the Israeli enemy and targeting all ships linked to it, heading toward it, or dealing with it. They emphasized their determination to continue striking the Israeli enemy with missiles and drones.

The statement clarified that operations would not cease until the aggression stops, the blockade on Gaza is lifted, and the aggression on Lebanon comes to an end.

The Yemeni Armed Forces recently conducted two major military operations that lasted for over eight hours in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea, which, according to their official report, achieved their intended goals.

Spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e announced that the first operation targeted the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea using cruise missiles and drones, as US forces reportedly prepared for an offensive against Yemen. Yemeni forces successed in averting this potential assault on their territory.

The second operation targeted two US destroyers in the Red Sea with missile and drone attacks. The Yemeni Armed Forces criticized the US and Britain for militarizing the Red Sea and warned of the security risks for international navigation in the region. These actions were framed as a response to US and British support for Israel amid ongoing aggression on Gaza and Lebanon.

The Yemeni military stated that operations would persist if key demands—such as lifting the Gaza blockade, halting aggression on Gaza, and stopping attacks on Lebanon—remain unmet. This announcement underscores a commitment to continue operations should these conditions go unfulfilled.

Since October 2023, following intensified violence in Gaza, Yemeni forces have launched multiple operations in solidarity with Palestinians, targeting areas in occupied Palestinian territories and intercepting ships believed to be headed toward Israeli-controlled ports. The recent operations highlight Yemen’s broader support for Gaza while signaling the potential for further military actions across several regional theaters if their demands are not addressed.
