Al-Ruwaishan emphasized that Yemen’s National Independence Day on November 30 marks a historic victory, where the resilience and determination of the Yemeni people forced the most powerful colonial empire to withdraw and recognize Yemen’s right to sovereignty and dignity.
“We are fully aware of the exceptional challenges and complexities facing our nation today. We recognize the continued threat posed by Israeli-American aggression in occupying our land and plundering our resources," he said. "Our response is guided by constitutional and legal responsibilities, as well as our national and religious duties.”
Al-Ruwaishan called on those deceived into supporting the aggressors to take advantage of the general amnesty offered by Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi and to unite in defense of Yemen. He assured that Yemen’s military, security, and intelligence institutions are steadfastly aligned with the people's aspirations and remain loyal to Allah, the homeland, and the revolution.
He noted that the celebration of Yemen’s 57th Independence Anniversary coincides with the Armed Forces and security institutions achieving significant victories on multiple fronts, carrying out their duties with a strong sense of responsibility.
Al-Ruwaishan also highlighted the pressing security challenges Yemen faces, including attempts to destabilize the country, the creation of internal fronts by aggression-backed proxies, and the looming threat of terrorism. He stressed that addressing these challenges is a collective responsibility, with security and intelligence institutions playing a critical role.
Yemen has declared open support for Palestine’s struggle against the Israeli occupation since the regime launched a devastating war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, after the territory’s Palestinian resistance movements carried out Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have achieved significant victories against the naval forces of the US, the UK, and Israel. These operations led to the effective shutdown of the Port of Eilat, also known as Um Rashrash, and forced the US aircraft carriers Eisenhower and Roosevelt to retreat from the Red Sea. The Yemeni forces also sank or damaged dozens of Israeli-linked ships.
These achievements have surprised many observers, as Yemen was not previously regarded as a significant naval power. The Yemeni Armed Forces have vowed to continue their operations as long as the Israeli regime maintains its war and siege against Palestinian territories.
So far, Israel has killed at least over 44,382 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured over 105,142 others in Gaza.
