News - World: Iran’s president has expressed his commitment to implementing a comprehensive cooperation agreement with strategic partner China.

Masoud Pezeshkian made these remarks during a meeting with Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing on Wednesday.

Pezeshkian, referring to his discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the recent BRICS summit in Kazan, stated that the level of cooperation between the two countries, which has been “friendly and sincere since ancient times,” is progressing well.

“In the recent meeting with Mr. Xi Jinping, we reached good understandings, and your trip to Tehran to follow up on these understandings is a testament to the Chinese government's determination to expand relations with Iran," he said.

Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran is determined to enhance cooperation with China and Russia in response to American efforts to strengthen its hegemony and unilateralism in the international arena.

The Chinese official noted that he traveled to Iran to follow up on the agreements made by the Presidents of the two countries in Kazan.

He described Iran as “a large and important country” in the region that plays a “constructive and effective role” in international affairs.

“Iran is a strategic and important partner for China, and we have structured our approach to relations with you based on expanding and strengthening long-term strategic ties,” he stated.

He also expressed that China is pleased with Iran’s cooperation in deepening bilateral relations, highlighting their useful collaboration to counter unilateralism both bilaterally and within international organizations.
