Teachers in Taiz Join Protests Over Delayed Salaries, Economic Collapse

News - Yemen: Teachers in Taiz's occupied areas have joined the wave of protests and demonstrations erupting across provinces under the control of the US-Saudi aggression and its mercenaries. The protests condemn the delayed payment of salaries and the worsening economic and living conditions.

The "Yemeni Teachers' Syndicate" in Taiz's occupied areas issued a public call urging all teachers and educators to participate in a protest scheduled for Sunday outside the Education Office building in the governorate. The demonstration aims to demand the payment of overdue salaries.

In its statement, the syndicate warned of escalating measures, including suspending classes, if their demands remain unmet. They also held the Sudi-backed government fully responsible for the potential disruption to the educational process.

Yemeni provinces under Saudi-Emirati occupation grapple with severe economic turmoil due to the manipulation of the economy by the Saudi-backed government and the exploitation of the nation's resources by the Emirati-Saudi occupation forces. The proliferation of counterfeit currency has led to rampant inflation and skyrocketing prices.

The economic collapse has had a severe impact on the living conditions of citizens in the occupied southern provinces, to the extent that the Saudi-backed government is unable to fulfill its obligation to pay teachers' salaries. This dire situation underscores the urgent need for comprehensive economic reforms and interventions to address the currency crisis and alleviate its impact on the population.

Hundreds took to the streets demanding the departure of the "coalition" forces from the south, a situation that analysts have compared to the protests in the 1960s against British presence, which laid the foundation for armed struggle in the south.
