Al-Rahwi: Western Powers Exploit Human Rights to Justify Aggression Against Vulnerable Nations

News - Yemen: Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi confirmed on Sunday that what is happening in Gaza today—mass genocide—and what previously happened in Yemen has exposed all those who claim to defend human rights.

During an official speech in the capital, Sana'a, organized by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights to mark International Human Rights Day, Al-Rahwi stated: "What is happening in Gaza, and previously in Yemen, has revealed the true nature of the infidel West and their aggressive tendencies."

He added that human rights have become a major lie used by the US and Western countries as a means to pass their aggressive schemes against vulnerable peoples.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Yemen will always work to establish and enhance human rights in accordance with Allah's guidance, which honors and distinguishes humans from all other creatures.

For his part, Ali Taisir, Deputy Minister of Justice and Human Rights, said: "International human rights law has fallen, and the world today has become more bloody and criminal." He added, "We are facing explicit Western crimes, supported and participated in by the Security Council and blessed by the United Nations."

Meanwhile, the Head of the National Committee for Prisoner Affairs, Abdulqadir Al-Murtadha, confirmed that the US accusations of human rights violations in Yemen have no connection to the humanitarian situation.

"The US accusations were a political decision against Yemen for its support of Gaza," Al-Murtadha said, adding that the US is not in a position to issue such accusations and should be held accountable as the true criminal for violating human rights globally, especially in Gaza.

Human Rights Day, observed annually on December 10, marks the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), a monumental document that underscores the inalienable rights afforded to every individual, regardless of race, gender, religion, or social status. This day serves as a reminder of the global commitment to uphold human dignity and freedom.

However, the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East starkly highlight the disparity between the ideals enshrined in the UDHR and the grim realities faced by oppressed populations. Since October, the Israeli regime has waged a devastating military offensive against Gaza, following a retaliatory operation by Palestinian resistance movements. This aggression has resulted in the deaths of nearly 44,900 Palestinians, the majority of whom are women and children, exposing the hollow nature of international human rights advocacy in the face of such atrocities.

West's use of human rights rhetoric is a facade to legitimize their aggressive policies against vulnerable nations, like the tragedies in Gaza and Yemen. These events starkly underscore the urgent need to bridge the gap between global human rights principles and their implementation on the ground.
