Mohammed Al-Houthi Warns Saudi Arabia Against Escalation

News - Yemen: Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi, cautioned Saudi Arabia against pursuing escalation, stressing that the real battle to prepare for lies in Gaza and in countering the expansion of the Zionist entity.

"They spoke of a diabolical plan involving mercenaries if there are signs of Saudi Arabia leaning toward escalation," Ali Al-Houthi said in a statement. "This includes recruiting individuals followed by dismissing them under the pretext of desertion, as well as presenting mercenaries as influential figures to depend on—although they are already being exploited for minimal benefits."

"If Mohammed bin Salman wants to verify this, he should review the records, as 'burnt cards' are being manipulated under various pretexts," he added.

Saudi Arabia, backed by the United States and regional allies, launched the war on Yemen in March 2015, claiming the goal of bringing the government of former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi back to power.

The US-Saudi aggression targeted neighborhoods and populated areas and destroyed the infrastructure and capabilities of the country, in light of a suspicious international silence.

The war has left hundreds of thousands of Yemenis dead and displaced millions more. It has also destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure and spread famine and infectious diseases there.

On July 23, Mohamed Abdulsalam, head of the National Delegation, announced an agreement between Yemen and Saudi Arabia to address humanitarian and economic issues.

The agreement included resuming Yemen Airways flights between Sana'a and Jordan, increasing flights to three daily, and adding routes to Cairo and India as needed. It also called for meetings to address economic, humanitarian, administrative, technical, and financial challenges facing Yemen Airways.
