‘Displacement Plot’: Hamas Condemns Israeli Demolitions in Occupied Al-Quds
News - Middle East: Hamas has condemned the Israeli regime’s demolition of Palestinian structures in occupied al-Quds.
The Palestinian resistance movement said in a statement that the Israeli regime followed a “displacement plot” in the demolition project.
The project includes the demolition of 13 homes in the town of Anata, east of al-Quds. The scheme is highly likely to entail the forced displacement and abuse of the local inhabitants.
Hamas called on the Palestinians in the occupied West Bank to stand up against the regime’s aggressive Judaization plot in al-Quds.
The resistance movement also demanded meaningful action from the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in that regard.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says the Israeli regime has demolished “1,787 Palestinian facilities” in the occupied West Bank between October 7, 2023 and October 15, 2024, “including 800 inhabited homes.”
The demolitions resulted in the displacement of “4,498 Palestinians.” Roughly 532,000 Palestinians were also affected by the demolition of their homes or their commercial, industrial, and agricultural facilities.
Away from the West Bank and in the besieged Gaza Strip, the regime continues to shell Palestinian homes.
In the northern city of Beit Hanoon, Israeli forces blew up several homes and residential buildings, according to eyewitness accounts.
Homes in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood in Gaza City were also bombed.
Witnesses said Israeli forces opened fire on the Sabra and Zeitoun neighborhoods in the southern and southeastern areas of Gaza City.
In the southern city of Rafah, loud explosions were heard amid blowing-up operations of homes and buildings.
