In a statement, the council praised the vigilance of the security agencies in thwarting these hostile activities and successfully apprehending members of a British espionage network.

The council affirmed that the espionage cells would face deterrent punishment in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. In June 2024, Yemeni security forces dismantled another extensive espionage network operating under the directives of US and Israeli intelligence agencies. This network had infiltrated Yemeni government departments for nearly a decade, collecting sensitive information, influencing policy decisions, and conducting operations to destabilize the nation’s infrastructure, including its health and education systems.

These espionage activities are viewed as an extension of the aggression Yemen has faced since the escalation of its support for the Palestinian cause and its missile and drone operations against the Zionist entity.
