This statement came during a meeting with Hamidan Mohammed Hamidan, the Regional Director for the Middle East of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Spain, who is currently visiting Yemen.
Minister Amer emphasized that the coalition is deliberately targeting the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Issa, and Salif with the intention of destroying them. Despite ongoing attacks, he noted that these ports are being repaired promptly after each strike. To counter their failure, the coalition has resorted to spreading misinformation among international shipping companies, falsely claiming that the three ports are inoperable.
He reassured international shipping companies that all services and facilities at Hodeidah’s ports are fully operational and capable of accommodating all types of ships.
Furthermore, he urged Médecins Sans Frontières Spain to prioritize supporting medical units and centers in rural and remote areas as part of its upcoming work program. This, he said, would help ensure medical services reach more communities across Yemen's various governorates.
Minister Amer also called for a decisive stance from the United Nations regarding the ongoing tripartite aggression by Israel, the US, and Britain against Yemen. He highlighted the deliberate targeting of the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Issa, and Salif, as well as power stations, labeling these attacks as war crimes aimed at destroying civilian infrastructure critical to the livelihoods of Yemeni people.
In a separate meeting on Sunday with Major General Michael Beary, Head of the UN Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA), Minister Amer reiterated that the assaults on Yemen's civilian infrastructure, including its ports and power facilities, constitute flagrant violations of international law.
The US-UK aggressive airstrikes on Yemen continue in clear violation of Yemeni sovereignty, as an attempt to deter Yemen from its decision to prevent Israeli ships from passing through the Red Sea in support of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, who are facing a genocidal war by the savage Zionist entity.
Yemenis have openly declared their support for Palestine's struggle against Zionist occupation since the regime launched a devastating war on Gaza on October 7, following the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm by Palestinian resistance movements.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have declared that they will not cease retaliatory strikes. The maritime attacks have compelled major shipping and oil companies to suspend their voyages to the ports of the Zionist enemy.
