News - Middle East: The military spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, Abu Ubaida, emphasized that the Palestinian people have made unprecedented sacrifices over 471 days during the historic Al-Aqsa Flood battle, which, without a doubt, dealt the final blow to the coffin of the fading occupation.

In a video address following the ceasefire in Gaza on Sunday evening, Abu Ubaida stated, “The great sacrifices and bloodshed of our people will not go in vain.”

He highlighted that the Al-Aqsa Flood battle began at the outskirts of Gaza but changed the face of the region, introduced new dynamics in the conflict with the entity, opened new fronts, forced the entity to seek support from international powers, and sent a message to the world that this occupation is a massive lie with profound consequences for the region.

He stressed that all resistance factions fought as one in every part of Gaza, delivering deadly blows to the enemy with great courage and resilience, even in seemingly impossible conditions.

"We were up against an unequal confrontation, both in terms of combat capabilities and the ethics of warfare. While we targeted enemy forces, the occupation committed new levels of brutality and savagery against our people," he said.

Abu Ubaida noted the grandeur of this battle is reflected in the leaders who joined the martyrs' ranks, including Haniyeh, Al-Arouri, and Sinwar.

He affirmed that all attempts to integrate this entity into the region will be met with a flood of awareness and the resistance of free peoples, adding that the criminal enemy is the root of all suffering in this region, and all efforts should focus on containing it.

He continued, "The responsibility now falls more heavily on our people in the West Bank, with special greetings to Jenin, Gaza’s sister in heroism and resilience."

Abu Ubaida declared the Al-Qassam Brigades and the resistance factions’ full commitment to the ceasefire agreement, stressing that its continuation depends on the enemy’s adherence. He called on all mediators to ensure the enemy complies with the terms of the agreement.

He expressed gratitude and deep thanks to those who stood with the Palestinian resistance against oppression and tyranny.

“We extend special thanks to our brothers in Ansarullah and our comrades-in-arms in Hezbollah, who paid a high price in our battle,” he said.

The statement coincided with the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, which took effect at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, ending 471 days of genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation army on the Strip.
