Hospital in Hodeidah: US-Saudi Aggression, Siege Increased Number of kids Malnutrition

News - Yemen: The head of Al-Thawra Hospital in Hodeidah, said, on Saturday, that the hospital since the beginning of the US-Saudi aggression in 2015 to the end of 2021 recorded 353 killed and 1,176 wounded.

During a press conference, at the Al-Thawra Hospital in Hodeidah, Dr. Khaled Suhail presented records on the damage caused to the building and the challenges as a result of the piracy on fuel, noting that the number of victims of the aggression’s bombing of the hospital in January 2019 amounted to 12 martyrs and 7 wounded.

He explained that, from the beginning of the aggression until the end of last year, the number of severe malnutrition cases received was 6,154, the number of malformations was 451, and the number of cancerous tumors was 5,033.

Suhail pointed out that the siege imposed on Yemen for seven years has caused a high rate of children suffering from severe and acute malnutrition. He stressed that the percentage of births who suffer from deformities, as a result of the aggression's use of internationally prohibited weapons, has increased significantly, indicating that tumors and cancer patients' suffering have been doubled due to the aggression preventing the introduction of necessary devices and medicines.

The head of Al-Thawra Hospital in Hodeidah pointed out that the continued piracy of fuel is causing the death of hundreds in operating rooms, intensive care and nurseries, and the damage of medicines and vaccines.

The US-Saudi aggression has recently escalated its crimes against civilians in various governorates, in light of the internationalist silence, indifferent to the blood of Yemenis that the aggression permits.

The Ministry of Public Health and Population confirmed that the number of cancer patients has doubled in Yemen due to the use of prohibited weapons by the US-Saudi aggression on our country.

Over 3,000 children with cancer are at risk of dying as a result of the imposed US-Saudi siege, deprived of receiving the necessary health care, according to Minister of Health.

The Minister of Health confirmed that Sana'a airport is closed and the patient cannot go out for treatment, and at the same time, due to the blockade, the entry of medicines and necessary supplies is prohibited.
