Shura Council, Parliament Strongly Condemn Zionists' Attacks in Al-Aqsa Mosque

News - Yemen:  The Shura Council strongly condemned the Zionist enemy's storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, vandalizing the contents of the Qibli prayer hall, attacking worshipers and those in I'tikaaf with sticks, firing stun grenades inside the mosque, and arresting hundreds of them.

In a statement, the Council affirmed that what is happening in Al-Aqsa, in terms of storming and beating worshipers, is a cowardly terrorist act that the Zionists would not have dared to commit had it not been for the shameful complicity of the normalizing regomes with the Israeli enemy entity.

The statement held the Zionist entity fully responsible for the consequences that might result from this heinous crime.

The Shura Council deplored the Security Council's position regarding the continuous violations in Palestine, calling on the international community to intervene quickly and put pressure on the Zionist entity to immediately stop the violations of the sanctity of blessed Al-Aqsa and the desecration of the holy sites and stop its crimes against the Palestinians.

The Council called on the Association of Senates, Shura Councils and similar councils in Africa and the Arab world to condemn these crimes and put pressure in international forums to stop Zionist arrogance and its desecration of Islamic sanctities.

The Council also called on the peoples of the Arab and Islamic nation to express anger, rejection and condemnation of the Zionist actions in Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to stand by the Palestinian people in the face of the arrogance of brutal enemy entity.

On Wednesday, the Parliament condemned in the strongest terms Arab negligence and silence towards the continuous violations and attacks of the Zionist enemy forces and herds of settlers against the Palestinians and worshipers in the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In a statement, the Parliament denounced the pre-emptive threat of the Zionist enemy, which it launched at the beginning of this week, to carry out its attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Parliament considered the continued attacks against Al-Aqsa Mosque a violation of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and a violation of international, humanitarian and moral laws.

The Parliament renewed the call to the heads and members of Arab and Islamic parliaments and all Arab and Islamic peoples and free people of the world to take serious and responsible positions to stop the series of repeated attacks by the Zionist occupation forces.

The statement called on the Security Council, the United Nations, and international and humanitarian organizations to take action to implement international law in order to put an end to the continuous attacks by the Zionist enemy against the Palestinian people and Islamic sanctities, and to protect the people of Palestine and the sanctities of Muslims.

Dozens of heavily armed Israeli forces stormed the al-Aqsa Mosque compound on Tuesday night before firing tear gas and stun grenades into the Qibli prayer hall, where hundreds of men, women, elderly people and children were staying overnight to pray. Some eyewitnesses said rubber-coated steel bullets were also fired.

Israeli officers then beat worshipers with batons and riot guns, wounding many, before arresting them.

Videos from inside the mosque showed Israeli officers repeatedly hitting people with batons while they appeared to lie on the floor. In the meantime, the cries for help from women and children could be heard in the background.

Since the start of the holy month, the Israeli regime has imposed strict restrictions on the entry and exit of Palestinians to and from the gates of al-Aqsa Mosque. Amid heightened tensions with Palestinian worshipers, Israeli settlers also press ahead with their frequent incursions and provocative rituals at the holy site.
