Yemen: At a critical time in the Yemen’s governorates under the control of the US-Saudi-UAE occupation, Egypt has appeared uncharacteristically on the scene of military events in Yemen since the end of 2015.

An Egyptian military delegation headed by Major General Muhammad Ismail Abdel-Fattah is visiting the city of Aden, from which the aggression is based, in southern Yemen.

According to news, the visit of the Egyptian military delegation to Aden comes to “provide technical insurance for the forces affiliated with the coalition, rehabilitate the military maintenance workshops, in addition to training and qualifying the recruits, and what the Egyptian armed forces can provide to the factions affiliated with the coalition.”

Egypt, which has tried hard to distance itself from what is going on in Yemen, has come under strong pressure from the United States and Britain to contribute to reviving the Saudi-backed mercenaries in Aden.

Where the visit of the Egyptian military delegation takes dangerous dimensions, in light of the clear American tendencies to obstruct the settlement talks between Sana’a and Riyadh. It coincided with a dangerous coup by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council, against the equation of the balance of power between the local components of the coalition. 

Some believe that it was coordinated and supported by the US intelligence, which makes the visit of the Egyptian military delegation in a suspicious situation, during this time, especially since the Egyptian army has never exercised such tasks directly for the benefit of one of the parties to the conflict in Yemen.

Political analysts believe that Egypt's acceptance of playing a clear role in favor of the US-Saudi aggression in Yemen is part of dangerous efforts aimed at rearranging the military situation of those forces in preparation for a new phase of the conflict in Yemen. While Egypt was supposed to be committed to playing a positive role in ending the war and not to be drawn into any moves that might contribute to fueling the war in Yemen.
