And a report issued by the Canadian newspaper “The Globe and Mail” confirmed today, Monday, that “Canada is the second largest exporter of arms to Saudi Arabia after the United States, as it sold $1.5 billion worth of weapons in 2022, according to the authorities in Ottawa.”
The report added, "Saudi Arabia is a major part of the Canadian foreign customer base for security equipment during the year 2022. Saudi Arabia accounted for 54% of the value of total military exports from Canada to non-American destinations."
The report indicated that “this comes at a time when Freedom House for Human Rights ranked Saudi Arabia, for the tenth year in a row, as one of the worst countries in the world in the field of human rights, and the failure to” pay attention to the suffering of the Yemeni People at a time when it claims that states it defends human rights.”
The report pointed out that “the organization, which was monitoring the war and investigating possible war crimes, criticized arms sales from Canada and other countries to Saudi Arabia, including the United States and Britain.
