News – Yemen: Yemen's Shura Council strongly condemned the barbaric massacres carried out by the Israeli entity against patients, wounded individuals, and medical personnel at Nasser Hospital, burying them in mass graves.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Council affirmed that the clandestine burial of over 200 bodies by the Israeli occupation near Nasser Medical Hospital in the Gaza Strip amounts to a war crime, exposing the criminal and fascist nature of the Zionist enemy.

The statement characterized the Israeli occupation's commission of brutal crimes, including starvation, cold-blooded killings, and genocide against the Palestinian people, as a disgraceful mark on all Arab, Islamic, and international regimes that remain silent and complicit in the face of the atrocities inflicted upon children, women, patients, and medical teams in Palestine.

Expressing dismay at the direct support from the United States and the West for Zionist aggression, the statement denounced their indifference to the massacre targeting protected humanitarian personnel as per international law, as well as the daily atrocities committed with the tacit approval of the US administration.

The Shura Council urged human rights organizations, humanitarian groups, and freedom fighters worldwide to escalate their efforts in solidarity with the Palestinian cause, gather evidence incriminating the occupation entity, and demand the prosecution of its leaders as war criminals.

The Council commended the effective strikes carried out by the Yemeni Armed Forces against Israeli vessels in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean, noting their significant impact on the economy of the Zionist enemy and the interests of their American and British allies.

Reaffirming the importance of sustaining military operations against the interests of Israeli aggression and its supporters until the aggression ceases and the siege on the Palestinian people is lifted, the Council emphasized its commitment to defending the rights of the Palestinian people.

Palestinian civil defense teams have unearthed a mass grave at the Nasser hospital in Khan Yunis two weeks after the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the southern Gaza city.

Gaza's civil defense agency initially said the bodies of 50 Palestinians, who had been killed by the Israeli occupation forces, were retrieved from the mass grave.

The United Nations has also demanded a transparent inquiry into the mass graves. Any investigation, according to the UN, would need to involve international investigators “given the prevailing climate of impunity.”

On Wednesday, South Africa also called on the international community to urgently lead a thorough and impartial investigation into the matter.

The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) said, “These grim findings call for immediate and comprehensive investigations to ensure justice and accountability.”

Israel continues to disregard the rulings by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and UN resolutions amid unrelenting bombardment of Gaza, DIRCO said.

On Tuesday, Gaza’s Civil Defence agency said health workers had uncovered around 340 bodies over the previous four days of people killed and buried by Israeli forces at the Nasser hospital in Khan Younis.
