News - Yemen: Finance Minister Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum confirmed that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) designed the Central Bank system in Aden and still controls all banking information.

Abu Lahoum added, "We recognize that the measures managed by the U.S. against the Yemeni economy are part of a plan to weaken it."

He explained that after the decision to ban counterfeit currency, UN officials and European ambassadors rushed to Sana'a, knowing that it obstructed their destructive plan. He added that under the guise of economic experts, some network elements infiltrated sensitive positions within the state, and the U.S. has been managing this activity for years.

Abu Lahoum pointed out that when the Americans sought funding sources, their goal was to undermine Yemen's resilience, weaken it, and return it to a state of dependency. He noted that policies that pushed for costly loan conditions are among the main American agendas.

He explained that preventing support for local production projects and manufacturing industries was done by placing obstacles and loan conditions, which were managed by the U.S.

He also reminded that the US-Saudi aggression has worked to prevent the entry of developmental goods except at high costs, along with the interruption of sovereign revenues controlled by the enemy.

He emphasized the need to confront the aggression's agenda and stated that what has been revealed reflects those who stand against the development process. He expressed confidence in wise policies to face and contain the risks.

According to a statement from the Security Forces, the network was directly linked to the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and had obtained highly sensitive information about various aspects of life in Yemen, including military, security, economic, agricultural, health, and educational fields.
